A mid-ripening variety with good vine vigor. The leaves are pentagonal. Clusters are medium-sized, elongated-conical, of medium density, often winged. Berries are medium-sized, spherical, with thick skin and waxy bloom, varying in color from greenish-white to golden-amber.
The variety features stable yields and hardiness. Wines made from it are characterized by moderate acidity, full body, light tannins, and aromas of apricot, spices, and flowers. Historically, the variety is known for its role in the production of the dessert wine Moscato di Saracena; there is also a subspecies called Guarnaccia Nera.
