The variety originates from the province of Vicenza and is characterized by a mid-late ripening period. An important agrotechnical feature is the uneven ripening of berries in the cluster, which requires careful sorting during harvest. The plant exhibits resistance to Botrytis.
The wine grape variety is traditionally used for creating red wines with aromas of wild berries and cherry, possessing good structure and freshness. Modern vinification methods also allow for the production of sparkling wines with mineral and citrus notes.
