10 August 2026

The variety originates from wild grapes and is historically associated with the area in the province of Parma. The berries are medium-sized, black-blue in color, have firm thick skins, and are covered with a thick waxy bloom.

This variety is one of the most intensely colored in the Lambrusco family. It is used for wine production in blends to impart color, tannins, and acidity to the beverage, or as single-varietal wines.
