The variety is a natural hybrid of Traminer and Österreichisch Weiß. The leaf is medium-sized, round, 3- or 5-lobed. The cluster is small or medium-sized, cylindrical-conical in shape, and compact. The berry is medium-sized, round, light green in color with brown specks, with a firm skin and melting flesh.
The variety ripens earlier than Riesling. It possesses high sensitivity to winter frosts and susceptibility to fungal diseases, including downy mildew, powdery mildew, and Botrytis. For a high-quality harvest, it requires fertile soils with good water supply and protected sites.
Intended exclusively for winemaking. With proper yield control, the wines are distinguished by notes of green apple, pear, peach, as well as mineral and herbaceous undertones.
