The Kármin variety is the result of crossing Petit Bouschet and Kadarka. Clone Kt.5 is used in winemaking primarily in the Hungarian regions of Eger and Kunság for the production of wines with intense coloration.

The chemical composition of the berries of this variety is characterized by a specific anthocyanin profile typical of teinturier-type grapes. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant and resistance indicators for the specific Kt.5 clone are not presented in open sources.
