The variety is thermophilic and well adapted to the Mediterranean climate of southwestern Bulgaria with mild winters and hot summers. It belongs to the relatively late-ripening varieties.

The berries of the variety are small in size. They are characterized by a high sugar content with relatively low acidity. Wines made from this variety have a light, smooth taste with floral notes and hints of pear and apricot.
