The variety is a selection clone of the Kékoportó grape, also known as Portugieser. The index E.42 indicates its origin from the Research Institute for Viticulture and Enology in Eger.

This variety is a wine grape intended for winemaking purposes. The variety is approved for propagation and sale within the EU; however, detailed morphological descriptions and agrotechnical characteristics are absent from open publications.
