The variety has a hybrid origin based on the crossing of Ontario and Thompson Seedless varieties. The genetic formula includes 62.5% Vitis vinifera and 37.5% Vitis labrusca. The plant is characterized by strong vertical growth and can reach significant sizes when grown on supports.
Clusters are of medium size, usually dense, which makes them require thinning. Berries are round, weighing about 2 g, contain soft seed rudiments, and hold well on the pedicels without shattering during ripening. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption, drying into raisins, and processing.
The variety has good winter hardiness (down to -20°C...-25°C), although it may require covering in cold regions. Resistance to major fungal diseases, such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, and Phomopsis, is assessed as medium, which suggests the need for preventive treatments.
