Variety description

The variety is functionally female, requiring cross-pollination for fruit set. Genetically, it originated from a natural cross between the Uva Tosca variety and an unknown pollinator variety. It was first described in the province of Reggio Emilia, where it has been cultivated since the 19th century.

The variety has high yield and is sensitive to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold. Morphologically, it is distinguished by very small berries with a loose arrangement in the cluster. The berry skin is characterized by moderate color intensity.

Wines from this variety possess high acidity, low tannin levels, and low alcohol content. The organoleptic profile features notes of blackberry, wild berries, violets, and wild rose flowers.
