The variety was obtained through complex interspecific crossing of the Bronner variety and the hybrid descendant Mtp 3179-90-7, which carries genetic material from Vitis rotundifolia. The vines have high growth vigor with semi-erect shoots; bud burst is early.

The clusters are medium to large in size, cylindrical or cylindrical-conical in shape, and moderately dense. The berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue in color, and covered with an abundant waxy bloom.

The variety possesses polygenic resistance to downy mildew, complete resistance to powdery mildew, good tolerance to gray mold, and partial tolerance to black rot. Wines from this variety are characterized by a fruity taste, balance, and soft tannins.
