Hárslevelű is a descendant of the Furmint variety. It is a late-ripening wine grape that is used to create full-bodied wines with good acidity and pronounced aromatics.
The variety is sensitive to climatic conditions and does not tolerate drought, extreme heat, or frost well. It is susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold, however, the thin skin of the berries allows the grapes to be affected by noble rot, which is necessary for the production of dessert wines.
