The variety is traditional to Andalusia and is preserved within the framework of grapevine biodiversity research, specifically at the Rancho de la Merced germplasm bank. It is a wine variety intended for use in single-varietal wines and blends with local varieties, such as Zalema, Palomino Fino, and Garrido Fino.
Wines produced from this variety are characterized as dry and elegant, possessing good aging potential. The variety is used, among other things, to create biodynamic wines and wines with biological aging under flor. Detailed morphological and agrotechnical characteristics of the variety are not widely available.
