Variety description

The variety forms weak to moderately vigorous vines with good cane maturation. Bunches are small, compact, and cylindrical-conical in shape. Berries are small, round, dark blue, almost black in color, with juicy pulp and thin to medium-thick skin.

The variety is characterized by moderate yield. It is resistant to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and tolerant to phylloxera, withstanding frosts down to -29…-32 °C. The grapes attract birds, which must be taken into account during cultivation.

Wine variety for the production of red, rosé wines, and juices. It belongs to the group of teinturier varieties with intensely colored juice. Sugar content is 22–26%, acidity is 7–11 g/l. The wines possess tones of black berries, sometimes with coffee or smoky notes.
