The variety is a wine grape and belongs to the late-ripening category. It possesses consistently high productivity, but is considered delicate in cultivation and shows susceptibility to major fungal diseases, such as downy mildew and powdery mildew.

The berries of the variety are capable of accumulating a significant amount of sugar. Wines produced from this grape range from dry table wines to dessert wines, characterized by fruit notes of peach, apricot, and quince, herbaceous nuances, and pronounced minerality.

The variety has many regional synonyms, including Rukatac, Krizol, Kacadibic, and Kukuruz. Its origin was long associated with Dalmatia, however, studies confirmed its identity with the Italian variety Malvasia Lunga Bianca.
