The variety is of French origin and is a Franco-American hybrid. The vine has weak to medium vigor with good cane maturation. Bunches are small, compact, weighing 70–150 g; berries are dark blue, juicy, with intensely colored pulp and juice.
The plant possesses increased resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and phylloxera, as well as high winter hardiness in the range of –27 °C to –32 °C. Yield is stable and medium. The variety is intended for the production of red and rosé wines with a fruity aroma and deep color.
