The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work by Professor Luigi Manzoni between 1924 and 1930. The goal of the breeding was to combine the productivity and hardiness of the Trebbiano Toscano variety with the aromatic qualities of Traminer Aromatico.
The grapes are intended for winemaking. Wines from this variety possess aromas of pink flowers, notes of wild berries, and citrus nuances. The variety is an independent genetic hybrid, distinct from other varieties of the Incrocio Manzoni series.
