The variety is a hybrid of Schiava Grossa and Muscat of Alexandria. The vines are medium-growing; on fertile soils, vigor can be above average. Cultivation requires training on trellises or pergolas and regular pruning.
The ripening period is 140–150 days. Clusters are medium to large, conical, branched, and loose. Berries are large, violet-blue in color with a waxy bloom and fleshy-juicy pulp.
The variety has weak resistance to fungal diseases and low winter hardiness, requiring covering in regions with cold winters. It is used as a table grape and in winemaking for the production of dessert and rosé wines.
