Moscatel Morisco is an autochthonous variety historically developed in the Mediterranean region. The plant is characterized by very early ripening and an early start of the growing season, which makes it vulnerable to spring frosts. The vine growth habit is semi-prostrate.
The leaves of the variety are medium-sized, pentagonal, lobed, and light green in color. The clusters are small, compact, and have a cylindrical shape. The berries are small, round, yellowish-green in color, and prone to natural raisin formation on the vine.
The variety's produce is distinguished by pronounced floral notes and shades of rose, which transition into tones of fig and raisin when overripe. The variety is intended for creating highly aromatic wines and is not identical to the Moscatel de Alejandría variety, which is distinguished by larger fruit.
