Moscatellone is a synonym for the Muscat of Alexandria variety. The variety is considered one of the oldest in the world and is of presumably Egyptian origin. It belongs to the multipurpose category and is used both for the production of dessert and dry wines, and for fresh consumption.

The plant belongs to varieties with a long growing season; berry ripening occurs in late September. The clusters and berries are large, oval-shaped, and greenish-yellow in color, acquiring an amber hue in the sun. The flesh is juicy, the skin is firm, and the taste is characterized by a pronounced muscat aroma and high sugar content.

The variety is heat-loving and prefers well-warmed soils. It is characterized by susceptibility to fungal diseases and requires careful agrotechnical care. The height of the bush and the parameters of training depend on the chosen cultivation system.
