Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing Muscat of Alexandria and Schiava Grossa. Its main purpose is fresh consumption; it is less frequently used for the production of dessert or flavored wines.

The plant has good vigor and productivity. The variety is characterized by sensitivity to fungal diseases, such as downy mildew and powdery mildew, as well as a tendency toward ovary shedding and uneven berry ripening. In agronomic practice, short pruning to 6–8 buds, vegetation control, and bunch aeration are recommended.
