Variety description

10 August 2026

Muscat blanc is one of the oldest grape varieties, with a cultivation history in Piedmont that can be traced back to the 14th century and origins dating back to the eastern Mediterranean. The variety is the result of centuries of traditional selection and adaptation.

This wine grape variety is used for the production of various types of wine. The berries are distinguished by their content of terpenes, such as linalool and geraniol, which provides the high aromatic qualities of the products. The variety is sensitive to growing conditions, preferring hilly sites with marly-sandy and calcareous soils.
