Variety description

The plant leaf is medium-sized, pentagonal in shape, and five-lobed. The cluster is medium-sized and conical. The berry is medium-sized and spheroidal, with thin dark blue, almost black skin covered with a waxy bloom.

The variety is cultivated primarily in the province of Oristano and the Tirso River valley on an area of about 110–113 ha with a yield of 80–90 c/ha. The traditional alberello bush training or trellising is used; the variety is adapted to the Mediterranean climate.

The wine grape variety is intended for the production of wines with aging potential, characterized by a full-bodied structure, ruby color, and an aromatic profile with notes of red fruits, herbs, and pink pepper.
