The variety was bred in Hungary for cultivation in regions with severe winters, which allows the vines not to be covered during the cold season. The origin of the variety is based on the use of genetic material from the Amur grape, which provides the crop with high resistance to low temperatures.

It belongs to the group of resistant interspecific hybrids, which makes it possible to grow it with minimal use of chemical protection agents. The variety shows good resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, which affect both the leaves and the grape clusters.
