Grape variety Philipp is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing varieties Eger-1 and Original. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth, reaching a height of 2.5–4 meters when trained on a trellis or pergola. Leaves are rounded, five-lobed, medium or deeply dissected; flowers are bisexual.
Clusters are large, conical in shape, dense or medium-dense. Large berries have an elongated-ovoid shape with a pointed tip, colored dark blue, almost black, with a thick waxy bloom. The flesh is firm and fleshy; the taste is sweet.
The variety belongs to the mid-season maturity group; the harvest is collected from mid-September to early October. The plant possesses winter hardiness and is characterized by relative resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold, while requiring shoots to be tied to a trellis.
