The variety is a natural hybrid of Gouais Blanc x Vulpea and is known by a number of synonyms, including Negra Tenera, Mala Cerna and Cerni Kleščec. The plant is characterized by high growth vigor and, in the absence of yield control, may lose product quality. The variety does not possess outstanding disease resistance.
A wine grape variety intended for winemaking. Wines from Piccola nera are distinguished by a fruity profile, moderate alcohol content, high acidity, and notes of dark fruits, spices and earth. The wine is often consumed young or used in blends.
