The variety is of French origin from Burgundy. The berries are distinguished by a characteristic color ranging from pinkish-gray to copper-brown, and the clusters are small and resemble a pine cone in shape. The variety belongs to the Vitis vinifera species and is considered quite difficult to cultivate.

The grapes are intended exclusively for the production of white wines. The flavor profile is characterized by aromas of apple, pear, and peach, as well as notes of tropical fruits and mineral undertones. Depending on the production technology, the wines can be light and fresh or full-bodied with a silky texture.
