The variety is a rare local type identified during the monitoring of old vineyards and is not the result of modern breeding. Its study is aimed at the restoration and preservation of the local grape genetic pool, primarily in the Castilla-La Mancha region.
The plant demonstrates drought tolerance, with its vitality not significantly decreasing under water stress conditions. The oenological potential of the variety is characterized by a high amino acid content in the must and the ability to accumulate significant volumes of aromatic precursors.
