The variety is a natural hybrid of Gouais blanc and a member of the Pinot family. The flower is hermaphrodite. Leaves are round, slightly dissected, three- or five-lobed, with medium-density pubescence on the underside. Clusters are small, cylindro-conical, ranging from dense to medium density.
Berries are small, round, golden-colored with thin skin and juicy flesh, covered with a waxy bloom. Maturity group is medium. The variety is characterized by high yield, but is susceptible to frost and fungal diseases, and sensitive to grey mold.
The purpose of the variety is exclusively for wine production. The wines are distinguished by their freshness and aromas of apple, pear, and caraway, and develop notes of honey, lemon, wax, and plum upon aging.
