The variety is of Italian origin, its name associated with the abundance of waxy bloom on the berries, resembling flour. The leaf is medium-sized, wedge-shaped, and three-lobed. Bunches are usually large, cylindrical, elongated, with characteristic wings.

The grapes are used in winemaking to impart freshness and a specific flavor to wines, although on its own it yields products with high acidity, low color intensity, and moderate alcohol content. The berries are prone to oxidation.

The variety belongs to the late maturity groups. It possesses good resistance to gray mold, but shows susceptibility to shatter (coulure).
