The variety is of ancient origin, with its homeland considered to be the regions of the eastern Mediterranean. It is classified as a wine grape variety and is used for creating dry, semi-sweet, dessert, and sparkling wines.

The main characteristic is an intense Muscat aroma, due to a high terpene content, with notes of citrus, peach, rose, jasmine, and spices. The variety requires sufficient sunlight for full ripening.

The variety does not possess high genetic resistance to diseases and requires standard care typical for Vitis vinifera species. The quality of the production is valued for its expressiveness and ability to convey the characteristics of the terroir.
