The variety originated in France as a spontaneous bud mutation of the Pinot Gris variety. The plant has medium vigor, with medium-sized three- or five-lobed leaves. Clusters are medium, dense, resembling a pine cone in shape. Berries are round, white in color with a golden hue.
The variety is characterized by good frost resistance and medium disease resistance, requiring warm, deep, and fertile soils, preferably calcareous. The wines are distinguished by their fullness, harmony, and aromas of apples, pears, citrus fruits, hazelnuts, and flowers.
