The variety is of French origin from the Bordeaux region, later spreading to Italy and Slovenia. Genetically unrelated to the Sauvignon Blanc variety. The leaf is medium-sized, three-lobed, dark green in color. Clusters are small or medium, cylindrical-conical, of medium density.
Berries are medium or small in size, round, white, covered with a thick waxy bloom, skin is thin. Yield is high and stable, requires regulation to improve wine quality. The variety has low resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew; sensitive to grey mold in case of excess moisture.
