Savagnin blanc B is an ancient variety, genetically related to the Traminer family. The variety has a moderate growth rate and medium yield. Clusters and berries are small or very small; berries have a round shape, green-yellow color, and thick skin.
The variety is considered demanding in cultivation; it is sensitive to downy mildew and powdery mildew. Due to late ripening, the variety requires a long, warm, and dry autumn to achieve optimal conditions. Issues with flower drop during flowering are possible.
The grape possesses high sugar accumulation potential while maintaining high acidity. It is used for the production of dry white wines, as well as specialized 'yellow' and 'straw' wines.
