Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the Schiava group, traditionally cultivated in Northern Italy, and has been grown in this region since the 13th century. The name "grigia" is associated with the specifics of flowering, while the berries of the variety have a blue-violet hue.

The grapes prefer sandy-loam soils containing dolomite and minerals. To protect against sun and hail, vine training methods using pergolas have historically been applied.

Wines from this variety have a light to medium body and are characterized by soft tannins, balanced acidity, and aromas of fresh red berries, with herbal and mineral undertones. The wine is recommended to be consumed while young.
