Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is an autochthonous cultivar of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and has a mid-late vegetation period. The leaf of the plant is rounded, five-lobed, with deep serration and a closed petiolar sinus. The flower is hermaphroditic. The yield of the variety is medium; it is noted for its susceptibility to downy mildew and a tendency for ovary drop.

Clusters are of medium or small size, cylindrical-conical in shape, and of medium density. Berries are small, dark blue in color with a thick waxy bloom and thin skin. The variety is used for the production of red wines with intense color and specific notes of black pepper, forest berries, and violet.
