The leaf is medium-sized, pentagonal, and seven-lobed. The bunch is medium-sized, conical in shape, moderately dense, and often with "wings". The berry is medium-sized and ovoid in shape; the skin is thick, and the color varies from dark blue to violet-black.

The variety has medium vigor. Ripening times in various sources are characterized as medium, medium-early, or late. The variety is adapted to the climate of Campania and is known for stable yields.

A wine grape variety used for creating varietal wines and blends with varieties such as Piedirosso and Aglianico. The finished product is characterized by an intense ruby-red color and notes of cherry, plum, and blueberry with herbaceous undertones.
