The variety has a dual-purpose designation; however, in winemaking, it is rarely used on its own, more often serving as a blending component to impart structure and complexity to wine. Red wines produced from it are characterized by lightness, a moderate alcohol level, and low acidity.
The plant is noted for its high yield and vigorous growth. Morphologically, the variety is represented by medium-sized oval berries. The variety is susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew but demonstrates moderate resistance to gray mold.
