The variety is a natural cross between the French varieties Dureza and Mondeuse blanche. The plant is characterized by moderate vigor, and the leaves are round, medium-sized, with slight cobwebby pubescence on the underside. The berries are blue-black, weighing 1.3–2.3 g, and are gathered in relatively loose clusters.
The variety is sensitive to chlorosis, drought, excess moisture, and does not tolerate soils with a high content of active lime well. It is prone to Botrytis infection and wood diseases. Wine flavor profile is directly dependent on climate: from distinct fruit notes in hot regions to hints of pepper and spices in cool ones.
