The Španjol variety, also known as Bela žlahtnina or Peteršiljasta žlahtnina, is an old grape variety historically common in Slovenia. In ampelographic literature, “Beli španjol” is often considered a synonym for the Chasselas doré variety, and “Rdeči španjol” as Chasselas rouge.

The plant has a medium-vigorous or vigorous vine. Bunches of a pyramidal shape are medium-sized and of moderate density, with a mass varying from 120 to 200 g. The berries are medium-sized, round, juicy, with thin skin and soft flesh.

The variety belongs to early ripening groups. Yield is characterized as average and regular. The variety was traditionally used for fresh consumption, although historical records also mention the possibility of its use in winemaking.
