The Tinta Aguiar variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera L. and is part of the Portuguese genetic heritage. It is presumed that the variety was formed through folk selection and is classified as autochthonous.
The plant is a wine variety intended for wine production. The berries have a black color, which is reflected in the designation "T" (tinto). Due to its status as a minor variety, detailed descriptions of bush morphology, ripening periods, and disease resistance indicators are not presented in open databases.
