The variety belongs to the medium maturity group; under Bulgarian conditions, the harvest ripens by mid-September. The cluster is of medium size with an average weight of about 168 grams; the shape varies from cylindrical-conical to conical, and the cluster density is medium or dense.
The purpose of the variety is the production of red wines and use as raw material for grape distillates, in particular in blends with the Rubin and Mavrud varieties. Scientific studies confirm the economic feasibility of growing the variety with irrigation at a rate of 70–75% of the optimum.
