Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is productive but nearly extinct, grown in small quantities in the Valencia region. Its wines are characterized as dry, balanced, and possessing moderate acidity.

The variety has the synonyms Nave and Ricoville. It is genetically confirmed to be distinct from the Bobal variety, despite sometimes being mentioned in the same context due to regional proximity. Research is underway to clarify the identity of the variety using microsatellite markers.
