The variety is a natural hybrid of Glera and Malvasia Bianca Lunga. The plant is characterized by high hardiness, drought tolerance, and resistance to strong winds. There are discussions regarding the genetic similarity between the varieties Vitovska and Vitovska grganja, with the latter more often associated with the Slovenian region.
The grape forms medium-sized, winged and dense clusters, with juicy berries having a thick skin. These characteristics allow the variety to be used for prolonged maceration in the production of dry white wines with aromas of citrus, pear, quince, wildflowers, and sage.
