The variety is autochthonous to the central-eastern part of Italy, predominantly in the Marche and Abruzzo regions. It is a wine variety intended for the production of dry and sparkling white wines.
The vines have low to moderate vigor and a semi-erect shoot growth habit. The clusters are medium-sized with small or medium berries. The variety is characterized by an early ripening period and good resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew.
Due to its low yield, the variety was close to extinction but has been recovered. Wines made from it are distinguished by high acidity and the ability to accumulate high sugar levels, which ensures good structure and an aromatic profile with notes of fruits, flowers, and herbs.
