Vlaška is a wine grape variety originating from Dalmatia. The variety is intended for wine production; modern processing methods allow for the production of straw-yellow colored beverages, whereas in the past, wines were characterized by a more intense dark shade, low acidity, and high sugar content.
The variety ripens in late August to early September. It has regular yields, but is characterized by high susceptibility to powdery mildew and vulnerability to viral infections, such as grapevine leafroll disease. Currently, the variety is grown in limited quantities and is included in programs for the conservation of autochthonous crops.
Synonyms for the variety are Maraškina Velog Zrna, Prejica, Tanetova Loza, Vezulja, Vezuljka, Zutuja, and Zutulja.
