The variety belongs to the category of ancient varieties and is a genetically studied representative of local viticulture. In the past, it was among the main varieties cultivated in the region, along with the Rebula, Malvasia, and Zelen varieties.
Currently, the variety is considered rare and practically lost, representing interest for the conservation of genetic biodiversity. It is used in winemaking; however, detailed agronomic descriptors of the variety are absent in open reference books, and in unfavorable years, the yield may be absent.
