Apple tree height is a dynamic indicator that depends on the genetic characteristics of the cultivar, the type of rootstock, and the method of crown training.

In apple cultivar testing, tree height is measured in meters annually at the end of the growing season from the root collar to the tip of the central leader. When using seed rootstocks, trees reach 8–10 m, whereas in intensive orchards on dwarf rootstocks, the height is limited to 2.0–3.0 m.
