The variety belongs to the group of leaf chicories known as radicchio. The plant forms upright, elongated leaves with a characteristic red color and white veins, the intensity of which depends on the ambient temperature.

The taste profile is directly dependent on the season: during the summer period, the leaves acquire a pronounced bitterness, whereas autumn-winter cultivation imparts a mild, sweetish note. The produce features a distinct crisp petiole.

The variety is resistant to low temperatures, which allows for harvesting until late autumn and winter. The roots are suitable for forcing to produce tender blanched shoots. The crop is versatile in culinary use: it is consumed fresh, grilled, or as an ingredient in dishes.
