The plant forms upright elongated heads with fleshy crisp stems. A characteristic feature is the dark red leaves with pronounced white veins.

The variety belongs to late-maturing types that form high-quality heads after exposure to low temperatures. The plant has high winter hardiness and resistance to lodging due to its shape.

To improve taste qualities and blanch the heads, a blanching technique is used by shading the central part of the plant before harvesting. The produce is suitable for fresh consumption and culinary processing.
