The Oudrupgårds høstæble tree grows large and vigorous, and possesses high winter hardiness and fertility. The fruits have a flat-round shape and reach a large size. The primary skin color is a shiny yellow-green or yellow with dark blood-red stripes on the sun-exposed side. The fruit skin is highly greasy.

The flesh is white with green veins, juicy, of wine-sour taste, and refreshing. Consumer maturity of the fruits occurs at the end of August. The variety is primarily for culinary use, and is also valued for its viability and used in breeding as a parental form to create resistant hybrids.
